About the Opportunity
South Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking a highly motivated trauma nurse with experience in leading staff and developing relationships to facilitate the provision of patient centred, evidence-based nursing care. The SWSLHD Trauma CNC provides clinical expertise and advice for trauma patients across the district.
The successful applicant will lead with a practice development philosophy in the delivery by leading quality improvement activities and embedding the standardisation of education and training activities in trauma care across SWSLHD emergency departments and inpatient facilities.
The successful applicant will be working across the 5 sites in SWSLHD and must hold a minimum P2 licence.

What You'll be Doing
The Surgical Specialties Clinical Stream is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse with an interest in Trauma to support Trauma Services across all facilities in SWSLHD. The SWSLHD Trauma CNC provides clinical expertise and advice for trauma patients across the district. The SWSLHD Trauma CNC monitors trauma transfers between SWSLHD hospitals via the trauma hotline and provides timely feedback to the referring hospitals where required. The trauma CNC is responsible for the planning development and implementation of education programs for the care of trauma patients in SWSLHD facilities. The Trauma CNC will initiate research and utilise their findings to ensure evidence-based care for the management of the injured patients.

- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and at least 7 years full time equivalent post registration experience and at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience in a relevant field of practice relevant to the specialty. Approved post graduate nursing qualifications in a field relevant to the specialty field or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the organisation.
- Please outline your clinical experience and qualifications relevant to the CNC 3 domains and functions.
- Demonstrated experience in initiating and implementing changes to improve clinical service delivery by enhancing models of care to achieve better patient outcomes and improve patient and staff experience.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, and successfully implement evidence-based projects, quality activities and research relationships with a broad range stakeholders.
- Highly developed clinical problem solving and analytical skills with the demonstrated ability to interpret data and apply insights practically to development and evaluation of models of care, education materials for patients and staff.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
