About the Opportunity 
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and delivery of a brand-new service within the culturally rich and diverse South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) community.

The ideal candidate for this Level 3 Occupational Therapist position is a skilled, empathetic, and independent professional dedicated to delivering person-centred end-of-life care in a culturally diverse community. They will demonstrate advanced clinical expertise and adopt a comprehensive, holistic approach to assist clients and their families through this profoundly important and delicate time. 


Where You'll Be Working 
SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.

 

These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities.

 

With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live.

  1. Recognised Degree in Occupational Therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer, with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and significant experience in the provision of occupational therapy services for End of Life Care patients, carers/ families
  3. Demonstrated experience participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process.
  4. Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring and development of junior staff and/or students.
  5. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
