About the Opportunity 
Come join us at Liverpool Hospital as a Clinical Psychologist in our Rehabilitation and Aged Care Department!

You'll work with clients referred to our inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, delivering evidence-based assessments, treatments, and support. What You'll be Doing
This position provides higher level specialised and evidence-based psychological assessment, diagnosis, case formulation and treatment of psychological issues as it is manifested in cognitive, emotional, motivational, personality and behavioural disturbances. The target group are clients and their carers referred to the outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation service.

The role also participates in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assists in the development
and provision of education and training programs. Additionally, the role supervises Psychologists and other disciplines working within the LHD according to organisational needs.

  

Where You'll Be Working 
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.

The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.

Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

  1. Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia as well as completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent.

  2. Demonstrated competence in a wide range of psychological assessments and evidence based psychological treatments delivered on an individual and/or group basis.

  3. Demonstrated experience working independently in the provision of patient/consumer-focused care.

  4. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience.

  5. Demonstrated experience of working in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation and/or aged care team setting with an interest and/ or experience in working with people with physical illness and related psychological distress.
