We are home to four large Aboriginal nations – the Gundungurra, Ngunnawal, Ngarigo and Yuin. Southern NSWLHD comprises of four Networks - Tablelands centred around Goulburn, Monaro centred around Queanbeyan and Cooma, the Coastal Network located in the far south-east corner of NSW, and the Integrated Care Network.
Where you'll be working
The Eurobodalla Health Service is located in the Yuin Nation on the beautiful south coast of NSW. It is a networked service spread over three campuses, with two hospitals co-located with community health, Moruya and Batemans Bay, and a standalone community health centre in Narooma collocated with the library.
The Moruya hospital – is a 55 bed hospital at level 3 role delineation. It offers the following services:
- Emergency department
- Inpatient acute medical care provided by General Practitioners
- General and gynaecological surgery
- Sub-acute - inpatient rehabilitation and palliative care
- Maternity (antenatal care, birthing and post-natal care)
- Hospital in The Home
- An outreach renal dialysis satellite service as a formal network from Canberra
- Pathology
- X-ray, ultrasound and CT
The NSW Government has announced $260 million to build in Moruya, a sustainable, modern and purpose-built hospital to support the needs of the entire Eurobodalla Shire from Narooma to Batemans Bay to service the ever-growing coastal population. This new facility is expected to open to patients in 2025.
What you'll be doing
Provide contemporary comprehensive GP Anaesthetic services for optimal patient outcomes.
Provide and support training to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.
Selection Criteria:
- Eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Evidence of accreditation with the Joint Consultative Committee Anaesthesia (Australia), together with a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, or Fellowship of Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine, or specialist qualifications deemed equivalent.
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in GP Anaesthesia.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and staff; and effective communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, and research and quality improvement.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2022_030
Applicants must have completed the COVID-19 vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
ASARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) 3 doses are required for Category A positions (refer to NSW Policy Directive PD2022_030 Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases).
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate.
