Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking Visiting Medical Officers in Anaesthetics to join our team at Canterbury Hospital! 

 


 

We are looking for Visiting Medical Officer in Anaesthetics. The primary purpose of the role is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Anaesthetics and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Anaesthetics Department and Hospital as required. 
  
The Visiting Medical Officer will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development. 

In addition, the role will be a part of a cohesive anaesthetic team who provide specialist anaesthetic services to a broad range of specialities in both adults and children. This will involve collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure clinical services provided are safe and achieve optimal patient outcomes.  
 
Medical practitioner, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Applicants must have Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthesia (FANZCA), and/or other current equivalent specialist recognition.
 
Positions are currently available. In addition, applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within two months from the beginning of the 2026 Clinical Year on 2 February 2026, may be considered.
 

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Public Hospitals Visiting Medical Officer Determination.
