About the Role

The opportunity exists for a pharmacist to join the dynamic Pharmacy Department at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. The position is full time and will be split evenly between a general rotational pharmacist duties and a non-rotating surgical specialist role providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients undergoing peritonectomies. The successful candidate will work as a critical member of the Advanced GI Surgical Unit multi-disciplinary team. 

  

Royal Prince Alfred Hospital provides a comprehensive range of clinical services to residents of the Sydney Local Health District and has specialised areas of practice in liver, renal and bone marrow transplant, Melanoma therapy, Haematology, Cardiology, Mental Health and advanced surgical procedures. The pharmacy department provides clinical trials, outpatients and production unit services and is a leader in the deployment of novel and innovative models of clinical care such as VTE Stewardship and Informatics.

Ideal Candidate

  • Current Pharmacist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or eligible for immediate registration, and able to practice independently. Grade 2 Pharmacists must meet the criteria set out in the Award and are expected to be able to demonstrate continual ability to meet three of the five competencies within the Award.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the priorities and requirements of hospital pharmacy.
