About the Role
Concord Centre for Mental Health is committed to improving mental health for people and our communities by providing quality mental health services in partnership with consumers, families and service providers by providing quality healthcare, delivery of safe appropriate care, ensuring access to services, supporting our workforce, and working closely with the local community to manage the changing demand for services.
The Hyperacute team consists of 3 senior OTs who work specifically on the Intensive Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and High Dependency units at Concord Centre for Mental Health. The role involves working a 7-day rotating roster (morning, afternoon and weekends) to provide an extended therapeutic program that focuses on sensory approaches, meaningful engagement and well-being, as well as providing individual assessment and targeted intervention to support consumers manage their distress in a high acuity setting. An expectation of the role is also to provide education and support to the wider Mental Health Service in sensory modulation, the use of sensory-based approaches, and other therapeutic engagement strategies to support consumers with distress and safety on the units.
Provide senior clinical leadership within Occupational Therapy service provision including optimisation of patient/client care delivery, as well as supporting the mentoring and development of staff.

Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor or post graduate degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and current registration with AHPRA, with experience at Level 2 or higher.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skill and significant clinical experience in the provision of Occupational Therapy.
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including collaborative stakeholder consultation and current NSW Driver’s Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
