About the Role

Royal Prince Alfred is the principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney and offers speciality services from its main campus as well as from Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and Dame Edith Walker Hospitals. RPAH is one of Australia's leading hospitals, providing an extensive range of diagnostic and treatment services. Its specialities include cardiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, cancer, respiratory medicine, neurology, liver and kidney transplants.

  

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of person centred; evidence informed nursing care that promotes identified health outcomes. The Registered Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

  

To effectively and efficiently manage an ever increasing, dynamic range of cell and gene therapy clinical trials and clinical research within the Cell and Molecular Therapies Department (CMT) of Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

  

To assist in the set up clinical research studies, deliver direct and indirect clinical trial related care of patients, and ensure associated data collection in accordance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements.

  

To promote the CMT clinical trials unit at a state, national and international level, as a site for clinical trials.

  

Foster local participation in clinical trials to produce evidence based practice across multidisciplinary fields.

Ideal Candidate

  • Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).

  • Understanding of ICH-GCP; privacy laws, regulatory and ethical issues in clinical research for the evaluation of cell and gene modified therapies with experience in a clinical research role.

  • Demonstrated high level skills in planning and organisation with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines within scheduled timeframes.
