About the Role
Rivendell Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health Services (CAMHS) is committed to improving mental health for people and our communities by providing quality mental health services in partnership with consumers, families and service providers by providing quality healthcare, delivery of safe appropriate care, ensuring access to services, supporting our workforce, and working closely with the local community to manage the changing demand for services.
The position is focused on mental health early intervention and promoting early access to mental health services through a consultation liaison model. The primary focus is suicide prevention, supporting children and adolescents to return / remain in school and school refusal. The skill set required encompasses clinical expertise, interprofessional and interagency communication, negotiation and care planning.
The Clinical Psychologist will participate in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services, assist in the development and provision of education and training programs, and will be expected to supervise post-graduate provisional psychologists where appropriate.
Ideal Candidate
- Must hold a post graduate degree in clinical psychology (Masters, and/or Doctorate or PhD) that provides eligibility for full membership of the APS and ACPA.
- Demonstrated extensive clinical experience in working with children and young people in mental health settings including school engagement.
- Experience and demonstrated ability in building and maintaining professional and therapeutic relationships through the application of written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including collaborative stakeholder consultation.
- Current NSW Drivers License (P1 & P2 accepted) and willingness to use for work purposes.
