Deliver evidence-based assessment and intervention in a tertiary mental health setting dedicated to children, adolescents, and families.
About the Role
This position provides evidence-based assessment, case formulation and treatments to children and adolescents 5 years up to 18 years with severe and complex emotional disturbance, including young people with a diagnosable psychiatric disorder, who have not benefited from less intensive interventions. Treatments include discipline specific assessments and interventions within the discipline of Clinical Psychology and expert mental health interventions such as individual, family and group interventions.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide quality, consumer focused and evidence based clinical psychology services for the clients referred to the CAMHS, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and to ensure optimal health outcomes for the consumers of these services.
The clinician will participate in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services, assist in the development and provision of education and training programs, and will be expected to supervise clinicians where appropriate.
Ideal Candidate
- Post graduate degree in Clinical Psychology (Masters and/or Doctorate or PhD) and be fully registered with AHPRA and have endorsement or working towards endorsement as a clinical psychologist.
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, and experience of implementing evidence based practices into direct clinical service delivery and service development including the use of CBT and its more recent variants.
