About the Role

You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.
 
This position is a temporary full time Administrative Officer Level 3 position for 6 months; 19 May to 30 November 2025, with a possibility of extension. The successful applicant will be working in the Clinical Genetics Service, Institute of Precision Medicine and Bioinformatics at RPAH. The role involves reception duties, receiving external and internal calls for the department and redirecting to clinical staff when required. General administrative duties include mail management, patient bookings on scheduler and Genetic record system, correspondence and file management with uploading of documents to hospital record systems and data entry. Experience with NSW Health applications would be desirable but not essential.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in a general administration or secretarial role in a health facility or related field.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and ability to liaise with a wide variety of staff and consumers.
  • Practical experience with or sound knowledge regarding Medicare billing in a public hospital.
