The Role

Environmental and Support Services Team Leader provides day to day leaderships to Environmental and Support Services staff including cleaners, porters and waste and linen porters. The role supports the Environmental and Support Services Site Coordinators and Supervisors to ensure that cleaning, waste and linen management, and portering services comply with NSW Health and South Eastern Sydney Local Health District policies, procedures and standards.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Recent experience working in an environmental services/ support services role within healthcare, industrial or commercial cleaning environment.
  2. Demonstrated initiative and the ability to use established procedures and techniques to determine the most appropriate course of action.
  3. Demonstrated ability to determine priorities for others, allocate tasks, coach and monitor work performance of staff to achieve work objectives.
  4. Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and a customer service approach
  5. Ability to perform a wide range of operational tasks, monitoring and determining work priorities to enable adjustments to workflow as required.
  6. Willingness to work a rotating roster to support the 24 hours /7 day operational service requirements of the department.
