What You'll Be Doing:
The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is ‘exceptional care, healthier lives’. The Nurse Manager After Hours is responsible for the overall management of the facility outside of business hours. This includes the operational management of patient access and care coordination for the facility and RHW Tiered Perinatal Network (TPN). The AHNM will manage all significant events outside business hours in consultation with the Executive on-call. The AHNM has the professional responsibility for the nursing, midwifery and associated support staff working after hours including the effective management of skill mix, monitoring and replacement of unplanned shifts and all WH&S associated responsibilities.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Current registration as Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Relevant management tertiary qualifications or extensive clinical experience and relevant management experience.
  3. Demonstrated ability to manage operational issues at a facility level that include patient flow / patient access, managing a dynamic bed base within a tertiary organisation and manage key financial performance management goals.
  4. Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge in the clinical practice of Midwifery and Nursing with an understanding of requirements for Baby Friendly Initiative accreditation.
  6. Demonstrated recent experience at senior nursing management level in an acute hospital setting.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to high standards of quality and to the provision of excellent women's health care.
  8. Demonstrated computer skills with knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Office software, Patient Flow Portal, ROB, Health Roster and Stafflink programs.
