What you'll be doing
The vision for Nursing and Midwifery at The Sutherland Hospital is to build a united team that provides compassionate care to our community through transformational, supportive and holistic nursing and midwifery.
The position is responsible ensuring the Surgical Bookings Office operates efficiently whilst maintaining an accurate elective waiting list for patients requiring a medical/surgical procedure. The Administrative Officer will process and plan surgical admission and meet Ministry of Health Requirements in relation to admission criteria. Ensuring that patients are processed appropriately through the continuum of care from waiting list to pre admission, admission and procedure.
The position is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to facilitate smooth operation for the Perioperative Services at The Sutherland Hospital and Community Health Services to achieve their objectives in a timely; reliable and efficient manner.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated capability to identify and respond to urgent matters, applying a problem solving approach to challenges
- Ability to provide a high level of customer service by demonstrating sound interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to providing quality service and quality improvement initiatives in workplace practices and procedures
- Ability to use computer hardware, software applications and electronic systems at a basic level in accordance with policy and procedure
