This is an exciting opportunity for a level 1/2 Speech Pathologist to join the Speech Pathology department at Sydney Children's Hospital. The position will work across a range of clinical services and service models, including paediatric Oncology, providing feeding and communication assessments and therapy. The speech pathologist will be well supported to develop or broaden their skills in a range of clinical areas with a focus on paediatric feeding and dysphagia, and complex communication. What you'll be doing
The speech pathology department at Sydney Children’s Hospital is a progressive an innovative place to work. We are a large team providing community, outreach and specialist hospital services with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice, family centred care and embedded clinical research.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide a high-quality speech pathology service to children and young people and their carers to ensure optimal health outcomes. This encompasses ensuring effective and efficient assessment and intervention in a multidisciplinary setting. The speech pathologist is also responsible for undertaking designated non-clinical tasks to support service delivery including clinical supervision, quality improvement activities and administrative tasks, Assessment and management of communication and/or feeding/swallowing disorders, liaison with preschools/schools and other agencies as required, recording of all patient interactions in eMR, participation in department supervision and department administrative duties.

1. Tertiary degree in speech pathology (or equivalent) with eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
2. Demonstrated postgraduate clinical experience applicable to a tertiary paediatric setting.
3. Knowledge of paediatric feeding and communication disorders and management.
4. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
5. Demonstrated commitment to professional development, evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement.
