An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated nursing leader to undertake the role of Nurse Manager Workforce at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, this role provides expert professional leadership and strategic advice on nursing workforce planning, workload management, and sustainable staffing models to support the delivery of high-quality patient care. The Nurse Manager Workforce drives workforce initiatives, reporting, analysis, and recommendations, ensuring contemporary and flexible workforce practices, systems, and processes are applied across the organisation. As a key nursing leader, you will contribute to a positive health and safety culture, supporting the organisation’s safety management system and consulting with staff to ensure safe, effective, and supportive workplace practices. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams while promoting excellence in clinical care and workforce management.

- Current nursing registration with the Australian Health practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and relevant tertiary qualification in Human resource management or other relevant field and/ or extensive recent experience in management
- Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
- Proven advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills and demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.
- Demonstrated expertise in and knowledge of the NSW Public Health System Nurses' and Midwives' (State) Award and advanced knowledge of contemporary legislation, policies and practices in regard to industrial relations and work, health and safety.
- Knowledge of contemporary workforce planning strategies
- Sound data analytical skills and competent in the use of information management software
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and consultatively across broad range of stakeholders to deliver outcomes
- Demonstrated successful customer service leadership and experience in balancing the demands of a busy process driven environment
