We are recruiting to a level 3 Social Work position on the Joint Child Protection Response Program(JCPRP).
What you'll be doing
- Must hold a degree in Social Work or Psychology or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer, which provides eligibility or membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers/full registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Extensive clinical experience in relation to child protection intervention and crisis intervention, counselling and case management including working with children, young people and their families.
- Significant demonstrated knowledge of NSW child protection legislation and policies, particularly in relation to the JCPRP program Demonstrated high level understanding and ability to work collaboratively and maintain relationships with interagency partners including the NSW Police Force and the Department of Community and Justice, health services and other key stakeholders in relation to children and young people who have experienced serious and criminal sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect.
- Demonstrated extensive ability to work in partnership with Aboriginal services, community members and ability to provide culturally safe environment for peers, children and their families.
- Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, independently problem-solve, and set priorities in complex situations
- Current Driver’s License (NSW eligibility) and ability and willingness to travel for work purposes.
- Ability to participate in the Child Protection on call roster at Sydney Children’s Hospital
