What you'll be doing
The Nutrition and Dietetic Department aims to work in partnership to advocate for optimised nutrition for children through evidence based clinical care, education, research and leadership. We specialise in addressing the unique nutritional needs of children from neonates to adolescents, across a range of clinical domains. Our primary aim is to optimise the growth and nutritional status of all children with chronic and complex medical conditions.
The purpose of the Deputy Manager of Nutrition and Dietetics is to assist the Manager of Nutrition and Dietetics to provide operational management and leadership for the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics to ensure the promotion and provision of high quality nutrition care to all patients.
To assist the Manager of Nutrition and Dietetics to foster and encourage the delivery of Nutrition and Dietetic services consistent with the vision and
strategic plan of SCHN
To assist the Manager of Nutrition and Dietetics to provide clinical governance of Nutrition and Dietetic services, through the support of both clinical food service and clinical supervision governance frameworks.
- Eligible for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia
- Extensive post graduate clinical experience in a range of clinical areas
- Ability to manage, coordinate and supervise staff from a diversity of professional and technical backgrounds
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels
- Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence, with the capacity to provide clinical supervision to other staff
- Ability to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature
- Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.
