What you'll be doing
The volunteers at Bear Cottage provide a wide range of support, enriching the program and the service provided to the children and their families.
The Volunteer Manager is responsible for the recruitment, management, training & supervision of all volunteers at Bear Cottage.
The Volunteer Manager will have a clear understanding of the needs of Bear Cottage and will be familiar with the different areas where volunteers are required to assist. An understanding of the needs of the families is also essential.
- Understand the principles of paediatric palliative care and the children’s hospice and the role of the volunteer in this setting
- Experience in management, including previous experience in recruiting, managing and developing staff and project work
- Experience in providing workplace training programs
- Proven organisation and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good computer skills
