The Genetic Metabolic Disorders Service (GMDS) Department at The Sydney Children's Hospital at Westmead are seeking a permanent up to 1.4FTE (56hours per week) Staff Specialist to join their team as soon as possible.
- Provide excellent clinical services to children and their families as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Participate in review and improvement activities, as well as training and education of staff.
- Abide by the hospital code of conduct and participate in annual performance reviews for clinical services in accordance with the Staff Specialist (State) Award.

Please note: To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency.
- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in Paediatrics and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
- Demonstrated experience in the diagnosis and management of children and adolescents with inborn errors of metabolism, including those with lysosomal storage disorders.
- Demonstrated experience in research and teaching health professionals.
- Demonstrated success in building effective relationships with staff and consumers.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work as part of an effective multi-disciplinary team and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Demonstrated ability in service planning and policy development.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
