We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team in a part-time capacity, working across two dynamic departments within Sydney Children's Hospitals Network.
This position is split across two departments:
- One day per week will be based within the Department of Psychological Medicine, where the successful candidate will be responsible for health service data analysis including state-wide child and youth mental health service data by using advanced statistical and analytical modelling techniques.
- The remaining two days per week will be based within Kids Research, contributing to research operations and support across various projects and initiatives.
What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of this role is to contribute actively to the provision of high-quality research activities at the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network (SCHN).
The Research Biostatistician will be responsible for providing research design, statistical analysis and interpretation of results. The position will contribute to the conduct of high-quality research to improve health outcomes for children and their families.
About You
- Demonstrated understanding and experience of the principles and practice of biostatistics, research and evaluation methodologies and statistical analysis of health service data; preferably with a relevant qualification in mathematical statistics or biostatistics.
- Demonstrated high level experience in the use of statistical packages.
- Demonstrated ability to identify analytical problems in research and implement appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and ensure a high level of attention to detail while considering service objectives and timeframe constraints.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work in accordance with key research ethical and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent verbal and oral communication skills, including the ability to present complex results to an audience with various professional
