We are seeking passionate, committed and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist who has the confidence and ability to make autonomous decisions and work collectively within the multidisciplinary team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for working with MDT in order to provide innovative, compassionate and recovery focused care to our mental health rehabilitation consumers.
 
The position provides specialist skills in client assessment and care as part of a multi-disciplinary teamwork approach to the provision of high quality mental health care with a recovery focus.  Duties include the provision of Occupational Therapy assessment; group and individual work with a focus on skills development and functional gain including collaboration in planning of a group therapy program, Care planning and report writing.

Selection Criteria:

 

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible.

 

  1. Must hold general registration with and qualifications recognised by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or ability to be registered at time of commencement.
  2. Demonstrated experience to conduct functional assessments of consumers within the Mental Health Unit and to develop therapeutic care plans to address their needs.
  3. Evidence in the development and implementation of both group and individual programs to Mental Health consumers.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised, set priorities and complete tasks with attention to detail in a complex work environment.
  5. Demonstrated understanding of a recovery focused model of care.
  6. Demonstrated capacity for effective teamwork.
  7. Demonstrated computer skills.
  8. Current drivers licence and a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
