We are pleased to offer this opportunity for 2 Allied Health Assistants to work with the allied health team at The Children's Hospital Westmead in our new, innovative 'Wattle' building. This role sits in the Child Life and Music Therapy team primarily, with collaboration and support across all allied health departments.
The successful applicants need to be available to work weekends.
What you'll be doing
The Allied Health Assistant (AHA) will work as a member of the multidisciplinary team, under the direction and supervision of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, dietitians, child life therapists and social workers.
The AHA will provide assistance to the AHPs in helping to facilitate various clinical interventions designed to provide timely access to services & intervention including with provisions of equipment.

Responses to the questions below:
- Completion of 12 or more months' service as an Allied Health Assistant Level 1 and/or Certificate III or IV Allied Health Assistant Qualifications or equivalent professional qualifications or working towards qualification.
- Experience working with children and families. Experience working with people with disability and/or in a hospital or healthcare environment.
- Proven ability to be organised, prioritise a number of competing demands/tasks & manage time effectively & efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and within a team; and ability to work under instruction with a willingness to learn.
- Highly effective interpersonal and written communication skills and computer literacy
- Ability to work flexible work hours, including weekends when negotiated
- Understanding WH&S requirements of the role and physical ability to move / transfer clients & equipment safely
