Kolling Institute, Northern Sydney Local Health District

What you'll be doing
We are looking for a Senior Research Scientist to join our Neurofibromatosis Centre for Translational Research Excellence at the Kolling Institute, Royal North Shore Hospital. Working hand in hand with our Adult Statewide Neurofibromatosis Service, and local Paediatric Neurofibromatosis service, our team is committed to delivering research outcomes that further our understanding of the clinical complications of Neurofibromatosis, and improve patient care. Our research spans molecular biology, tissue biology, clinical trials research and patient reported outcomes. The successful applicant will have a broad understanding and experience of research methodology and analysis. Previous experience with Neurofibromatosis or other cancer predisposition syndromes would be preferable.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Possesses a research degree in biomedical science or a related field, preferably postgraduate qualifications.
  2. Can you tell us about your previous experience supervising a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality research and productivity, while demonstrating the ability to multitask effectively to meet expected turnaround times.
  3. Can you tell us about your previous experience and ability in laboratory science or clinical research in developing new assays and research tools, and how you troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
  4. Can you tell us how you stay current with developments and technologies in the field to aid in the complex analysis and interpretation of research findings.
