About the opportunity
You will be working for NSW Health Pathology. Your primary work location will be Wollongong Public Hospital but will also be rostered at Shellharbour, Bulli and Coledale Hospitals. We also provide a home collection service to the Illawarra region. You are required to participate in a seven-day rotating roster attending only morning shifts. Participation in all collection roles would be required.

What you'll be doing
Contribute to a customer-focused pathology collection service for inpatients and outpatients.

- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2) with a Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia approved qualification for administration of medication (including intravenous medication administration).
- Customer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and clinical staff.
- Previous venepuncture experience, familar with pathology terminology and requirements and the willingness to learn paediatric and nenoate blood collections.
- Display initiative, problem solving and analytical skills including an ability to apply established principles in a pathology setting and investigate and resolve general and complex issues within the work environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services, including the use of Patient, Rostering and Quality systems.
- Commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement and to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities.
