If you want to help drive change and innovation within a dedicated team of people, this is the job for you! NSW Health Pathology is currently seeking a permanent full time Administration Officer at Wollongong Hospital.
Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has bed base of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services. Wollongong is located an hour’s drive south of Sydney on a narrow coastal strip bordered by the Royal National Park to the north, Lake Illawarra to the south, the Tasman Sea to the east and the Illawarra Escarpment to the west.

Provide an effective full range of administrative support services, including filing and records management, data input and management, mail receipt and sorting, maintenance of registers, photocopying, compilation of annuals and reports to support the smooth running of the service.

- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise own work, display time management skills taking into account the impact on others to achieve results to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to use computer hardware, software applications and electronic administration systems and Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel to complete requirements of the role.
- A demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks in a high volume work environment under general instruction requiring minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to confidently and courteously deal with a variety of people.
- Demonstrated competent keyboard and digital dictaphone typing skills (minimum 40 wpm with 98% accuracy). Current typing speed certificate to be supplied.
- Medical terminology certificate and/or demonstrated relevant experience in a health care setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the functions of Medicare billing including inpatient and outpatient Medicare billing.
