About the opportunity

Are you an experienced PoCT leader ready to take the next step in shaping pathology services across NSW? We are seeking a skilled PoCT Zone Manager to oversee the effective operation of Point of Care Testing within a large and diverse network. In this permanent full-time role, you will play a critical part in ensuring high-quality, client-focused services that meet best practice standards. This includes providing expert advice, driving continuous improvement, managing accreditation requirements, and supporting both staff and testing sites across your zone.
 

This role offers the opportunity to combine your strong technical knowledge with strategic management skills, working closely with Local Health Districts, laboratories, and clinical teams to deliver innovative and reliable PoCT solutions. You’ll have the scope to influence service delivery, strengthen compliance and efficiency, and build strong partnerships that directly impact patient outcomes across NSW.

What you'll be doing
 

  • Ensure effective operation of PoCT activities in accordance with relevant policies, standards and the requirements of a diverse client base;
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of a client-focused service which operates to best practice standards;
  • Provides the principal point for expert scientific and management advice, support and education in PoCT services for the Pathology Network.

  1. Tertiary qualifications relevant to Pathology and eligibility for membership of relevant professional body with demonstrated extensive experience and expertise in development of Point of Care Testing in clinical science environment and/or extensive relevant work experience.
  2. Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including a demonstrated expert knowledge of quality procedures and performance measures for Point of Care with extensive understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles.
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills with a track record in stakeholder engagement.
  4. Demonstrated high level use of analytical and problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to work unsupervised, with high level organisations and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to make management decisions and take initiatives through delegated responsibilities to improve service delivery with expert standard of negotiation techniques.
  5. High level PC skills including such programs as word processing and spread sheets.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous improvement and a contemporary knowledge of NATA Medical Testing requirements and ISO quality certification.
