The Role
The Clinical Nurse Specialist 2 (CNS2) provides a broad range of D&A services for patients within the Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network (JH&FMHN).
These services include:
- Assessment & management of Intoxication and withdrawal states.
- Assessment & management of patients requesting to commence on an Opioid Substitution Treatment (OST) program or who are being maintained on an OST program whilst in custody.
- Substance Use and Pregnancy (SUP) program.
- Brief interventions including provision of harm minimisation strategies and related health education initiatives.
- Release care planning.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
· Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
· Three years' fulltime experience working in AOD and possesses post-graduate qualifications in AOD, or a combination of equivalent experience and qualifications.
