About the opportunity

NSW Health Pathology Maitland has a short-term opportunity, until the end of January 2026, for a potential administrative officer to join our dynamic team of multidisciplinary technical staff. Maitland is serving the needs of the diverse and rapidly growing Hunter Valley region.

The Maitland laboratory is part of the public pathology network and comprises approximately 22 staff members of varying grades. The New Maitland Hospital in Metford opened its doors in January 2022. This modern, purpose-built laboratory has space for future growth and beautiful views. Being part of a growing community, but still in close proximity to Newcastle, will see the area grow and expand and provide exciting opportunities within the laboratory space. With the expansion of the hospital and the increase in beds and outpatient services, the demand for fast, accurate and high-standard of service delivery is paramount in building the already well-developed relationship the laboratory has with the stakeholders. The friendly Maitland team is supportive, embraces change, and above all, sets a high standard for themselves and the team.
