What you'll be doing
The Senior Physiotherapist – Spinal Cord Injuries Unit works under the supervision of the Spinal Physiotherapy L6 Senior to deliver evidence‑based physiotherapy assessment, treatment and management across inpatient and outpatient settings. The role applies advanced clinical reasoning and independent professional judgement within scope to support safe, effective and patient‑centred care.The position contributes to high‑quality service delivery through collaboration with multidisciplinary team members, supervision of junior staff and students, and participation in quality improvement activities within the Spinal Cord Injuries service
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Full registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA), with demonstrated extensive clinical experience, including a minimum of experience as a Level 2 Physiotherapist, and experience in the assessment and management of people with spinal cord injury or complex neurological presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement activities or service evaluation process. Experience in clinical teaching and supervision of students, level 1/2 Allied Health Professionals and/or Allied Health Assistants.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical expertise in the acute management and early rehabilitation of people with spinal cord injury, including respiratory care, seating and positioning, case management and discharge planning.
