What you'll be doing
In this role, you’ll provide advanced clinical care and leadership within a specialised pelvic health physiotherapy service, delivering patient-centred assessment and management for complex maternity and pelvic health presentations across inpatient and outpatient settings. You’ll lead and support the Women’s Health Physiotherapy team, applying expert clinical reasoning and advanced practice skills to optimise patient outcomes and functional independence. As a senior clinician, you’ll drive service development and innovation, expanding models of care beyond traditional women’s health through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. You’ll also play a key role in clinical governance, staff education and mentoring, quality improvement, and the development of safe, evidence-based practice, while fostering a respectful, inclusive and high-performing team culture.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
  1. Must hold qualifications recognised for registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia. Demonstrated current clinical knowledge of Physiotherapy, a high level of contemporary intervention skills, and demonstrated senior expertise in delivery, direction and management of physiotherapy services. Must have experience as a level 2 Physiotherapist.
  2. Demonstrated current and advanced clinical knowledge, with high‑level contemporary intervention skills and senior expertise, in the delivery, direction and management of women’s health physiotherapy services. Demonstrated ability to direct clinical care within a team and provide education to staff and students. Demonstrated clinical experience and advanced knowledge in the use and fitting of vaginal pessaries in the management of pelvic organ prolapse, with the ability to provide education, supervision and mentorship to other clinicians in this area, or a demonstrated capacity to rapidly develop these advanced skills.
  3. Demonstrated experience in service assessment, planning and development, and quality improvement activities, with the skills and experience to lead the planning, development and expansion of the pelvic health service beyond traditional women’s health, supporting a more integrated and sustainable model of care.

     

  4. Proven clinical leadership skills with an ability to support District colleagues as an expert in the field of pelvic health physiotherapy. This may include implementing evidence-based practices, mentoring and training, interdisciplinary collaboration, advocacy and policy development, and engaging with clinical networks.
