Temporary Full Time opportunity for a Social Work Senior Clinician (Level 3) to join the dynamic Social Work Department at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH).

What you'll be doing

Provide high level Social Work service to consumer’s carers and families to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes consistent with the districts and professional policies, procedures, standards, relevant legislation and Code of Conduct.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. A Bachelor or post graduate degree in Social Work and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Evidence of extensive clinical experience, inclusive of experience as a Level 2 Social Work.
  3. Demonstrated advanced clinical skills in comprehensive psycho-social assessments, counselling and therapeutic interventions, complex clinical casework, group work, advocacy and discharge planning.
  4. Demonstrated specialist knowledge and experience at a Level 2 or above in the assessment and psychosocial care of patients and families admitted to hospital with traumatic and severe injuries.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as a collaborative member of multiple interdisciplinary teams.
  6. Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and implement quality improvement and research activities.
  7. Demonstrated experience in the provision of supervision of social workers and social work students.
  8. Demonstrated well developed skills in written and verbal communication, computer literacy, time management, prioritisation, liaison and negotiation.
