RNSH Social Work Department is seeking a dynamic Social Work Health Professional Educator to join our team. This position will work directly with social work clinicians and students in their ongoing professional development needs and goals.

What you'll be doing
The Health Professional Educator (Social Work) is responsible for the design, delivery and evaluation of education programs to both Social Workers and Social Work students within RNSH Social Work Department aimed at building capacity of Social Work clinicians to provide excellence in clinical care and excellence in entry level clinical training to Social Work students.    

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Tertiary qualifications in Social Work providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers with a minimum of ten years post graduate social work clinical practice.
  2. Demonstrated extensive clinical social work experience within an acute hospital setting across a wide range of clinical areas.
  3. Demonstrated advanced clinical skills in comprehensive psycho-social assessments, counselling and therapeutic interventions, complex clinical casework, group work, advocacy and discharge planning.
  4. Demonstrated skills and experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of social work education and / or professional development programmes including the application of adult learning principles.
  5. Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating and evaluating social work field education.
  6. Demonstrated experience in the supervision of social work students and clinical staff.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence Based Practice and the development and implementation of research skills.
