The Adolescent Inpatient Mental Health Unit (Brolga) is located at Hornsby. Our service provides a safe and therapeutic environment for 12–17-year-olds experiencing mental health problems. What you'll be doing
The Registered Nurse (RN) with Brolga adolescent inpatient Services leads and supports quality patient health outcomes with a focus of recovery across a range of health care settings. The RN assumes a leadership role within the nursing team supporting, coaching and leading nursing staff including Enrolled Nurses (EN) and Assistants in Nursing (AIN). The RN plans trauma informed care and least restrictive practices with a specialised unit working with adolescent consumers in throughout their recovery, implements and evaluates specific mental health nursing care. By promoting and leading therapeutic activities, you will support the multidisciplinary health care team and ensures safe practice within adopted models of care and collaborate in care plans.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse – Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Current mental health, drug and alcohol clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability.
- A commitment to excellence in mental health nursing practice and continuing professional development.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- An understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements of the Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of information technology systems.
