An exciting opportunity is available to join the Community Mental Health Administration team at Hornsby Hospital as a part-time Receptionist. In this frontline role, you will provide face-to-face assistance to patients and visitors, while also managing enquiry phone calls with professionalism and care.

The Community Mental Health Administration team plays a vital role in supporting community mental health service operations, including greeting consumers and visitors, managing incoming phone calls, supporting appointment bookings, and providing general administrative assistance such as ordering supplies and minute-taking. As a receptionist, you will be an essential point of contact, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for all who engage with the service.

The successful applicant will work 2 to 3 shifts of 8 hours each week. Service hours operate Monday to Friday, between 8:30am and 5:00pm. If you are organised, customer-focused, and thrive in a dynamic hospital setting, we encourage you to apply and become a valued member of our team.

What you'll be doing
To assist and participate in the delivery of an efficient, effective and comprehensive community-based service in the Northern Sydney Local Health District. This is achieved by managing a busy switchboard, answering general inquiries, referring intake matters appropriately, greeting consumers and other visitors, managing appointments and medical records, fulfilling general office duties, and undertaking other appropriately delegated tasks.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

 

  1. High level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated attention to detail with particular focus on integrity and efficiency.
  2. Demonstrated experience undertaking administrative support roles and responsibilities including meeting minute taking.
  3. Strong understanding of confidentiality and privacy issues in a health industry.
