MHICU Clinical Nurse Consultant

1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
2. A registered nurse who has a minimum of 5 years full time post graduate experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in mental health nursing. In addition the applicant must have an approved post graduate qualification relevant to the speciality and hold a Masters (pertaining to speciality field) or is willing to enrol and commence a Masters in the relevant speciality field within two years of the appointment.
3. Demonstrated advanced computer, Internet and information technology skills, and holds a current NSW Driver's Licence.
4. Demonstrated expert level clinical expertise and leadership in management of people with complex mental health issues and psychiatric disorders and associated behaviours.
5. Evidence of knowledge and application of contemporary theories and techniques of practice that underlie mental health care and management of challenging behaviours.
6. Demonstrated ability to initiate and lead evidence-based nursing clinical practice development and a commitment to the concept of continuous quality improvement programs.
7. Demonstrated ability in the development and delivery of education programs, within a coaching framework.
8. Demonstrated ability to network and communicate with a range of internal and external key partners.
