Child and Family Health - Registered Nurse
Child and Family Health nursing position available within the dynamic, innovative NSLHD Child & Family Health Service. A Registered Nurse (RN) with Child and Family Health qualifications will find rewards in the practice which extends their role and provides a continuum of care in the support of families. The role involves working autonomously undertaking home visiting, providing child health checks, and facilitating groups. The successful applicant will have a period of orientation and once established in the team mentoring is available to develop extended skills in areas such as project management, education, and advanced clinical practice.

Northshore Ryde Child and Family Health Nursing Team
Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.
The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.
Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.
What you'll be doing
The Child and Family Health Nurse works within a multi-disciplinary team as part of the NSLHD Child and Family Health Service. The Child and Family Health Nurse strives to maintain, improve and promote the optimal health and wellbeing of children and their families within the NSLHD community. Sound clinical judgement and effective communication skills are utilised in caring for families. The Child and Family Health Nurse is considerate to individual and cultural values,and endeavours to empower families through a sensitive and flexible approach to service delivery.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse – Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Current drivers licence recognised in NSW.
- Recognised post graduate qualifications in Child and Family Health or equivalent experience.
- Ability to demonstrate counselling skills, group facilitation skills and working in partnership with families.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with clients, colleagues and other professionals both verbal and written.
