What you'll be doing

Provide contemporary comprehensive Specialist General Practitioner services including non-specialist Breast Physician and Screen Reader services at the primary facility and other facilities where applicable for optimal patient outcomes delivering a healthy community through quality care.
 
Participate in quality improvement activities as well as providing training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

About BreastScreen New South Wales

The BreastScreen programme on the NSW North Coast offers free screening mammogram appointments all year round, at its permanent clinics located in Tweed Heads, Lismore, Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie.  In addition to the permanent clinics, BreastScreen NSW operates a Mobile Unit which visits smaller towns in the region on an annual basis.

  1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Practitioner, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways, and/or eligible for General registration with the Medical Board of Australia and have appropriate skills and training assessed by the Local Health District to provide specialist General Practice services.
  2. Demonstrated recent clinical experience in General Practice at the role delineation of the service.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
  4. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
  6. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
