Providing high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Sexual Assault Medicine and Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) and providing specialised clinical support to assist in the prevention and response to violence, abuse and neglect, as well as participating in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Sexual Assault Medical Service and Hospital as required.
Maintaining and extending the department’s provision of high-quality medical and forensic care to recent victims of sexual violence (aged 14 years and over). Working in partnership with staff specialist paediatricians in responding to child abuse and neglect.

- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in a relevant specialty, and/or specialist international medical graduate pathways
- Qualifications and/or professional experience in understanding of the nature and impacts of sexual and domestic and family violence, and complex trauma, and completion of or willingness to undertake the Education Centre Against Violence Course MF1425 at a minimum
- Demonstrated knowledge of integrated violence abuse and neglect service delivery and management of adult sexual assault and domestic violence, including responses to crisis presentations, medical follow-up and wellbeing consultations
- Proven ability to provide leadership, advanced negotiation skills and the ability to develop and maintain a cohesive patient centred service
- Preparedness to support and participate in a 24/7 on-call service which responds to interagency partners (NSW Police), including on-call rosters already existing or established, if requested and credentialed, and provision of ongoing training and support to examiners
- Demonstrated expertise or willing to undertake education in managing and supervising medico-legal work, including review of Expert Witness Certificates, providing expert witness evidence and testimony in court, preparing examiners to provide evidence and testimony and debriefing examiners
- Valid unrestricted drivers’ licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment
