Staff Specialist Remuneration: $246,059 per annum - $332,434 per annum full time equivalent depending on experience 
VMO Remuneration: As per current and applicable NSW Health VMO Remuneration rates 
Hours Per Week:  Up to 40 Hours per week

Providing contemporary comprehensive Specialist Psychiatry services at the primary facility and other facilities where applicable for optimal patient outcomes delivering a healthy community through quality care. Positions include the specialties of:

    • Adult Inpatient
    • Adult Community
    • Consultation Liaison.
    • Child & Adolescent
    • Older persons

Providing clinical leadership, participate in quality improvement activities and provide training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

Where you'll be working

The Northern NSW Local Health District extends from Tweed Heads in the north, to Tabulam and Urbenville in the west, and to Nymboida and Grafton in the south. We provide acute healthcare services in eight hospitals, and four Multi-Purpose Services (MPS).  Our hospitals are located at: Ballina, Byron, Casino, Grafton, Lismore, Maclean, Murwillumbah and Tweed Heads. Our MPS facilities are located at: Bonalbo, Kyogle, Nimbin, Urbenville.  Visit Northern NSW LHD Mental Health Services for more information on our services.

Selection Criteria

  1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Psychiatrist and/or specialist international medical graduate pathways.
  2. Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Psychiatry at the role delineation of the service.
  3. Accredited ECT provider or willingness to work towards same for all adult related specialities.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
  5. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
  7. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
  8. Valid unrestricted drivers’ licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment for some roles please refer to specific postion descriptions
