Staff Specialist Salary: $262,376 to $354,479 per annum full time equivalent depending on experience

Where you'll be working
The Northern NSW Local Health District covers a large area in north-eastern NSW extending from Tweed Heads in the north to Tabulam and Urbenville in the west and to Nymboida and Grafton in the South. NNSWLHD provides a diverse range of public healthcare through 12 hospitals and multi-purpose services, 21 community health centres and other facilities. The Northern NSW LHD has a range of services aimed at helping members in our community make positive changes in regard to alcohol and substance use offering individual counselling, hospital consultation and liaison, Hospital Inpatient Withdrawal Units, an Opioid Treatment Program, MERIT Program, Drugs in Pregnancy Program, Community Engagement Team and more.

- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in Addiction Medicine, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (Addiction Medicine)
- Demonstrated current clinical experience as a Senior Medical Officer in Addiction Medicine at the role delineation of the service
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage people effectively
- Demonstrated ability to work collaborative and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated highly developed communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research, and quality improvement initiatives
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time
- Valid unrestricted drivers' licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment
