Specialist Drug and Alcohol Counsellor - Byron

• Tertiary qualifications and be a member of relevant associations or registered with the relevant board, in one of the following disciplines: Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, nursing. Professions which fall under the health Professionals State Award (Psychology, Social Worker, Counselor) who apply must provide evidence of 3 years clinical experience in their profession and under minimal direct professional supervision
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience of treatment and prevention approaches in the drug and alcohol field applicable with people presenting with complex needs.
• Demonstrated clinical experience in drug and alcohol, assessment, referral, counselling, group work and brief interventions.
• Demonstrated experience in consultation, liaison and working in partnership with government services, non-government agencies and the broader community groups.
• Demonstrate experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of alcohol and other drug intervention and strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt work practices to suit circumstances in a diverse range of out-patient and /or outreach settings.
• Valid unrestricted drivers licence for use in NSW/Australia
