About the role
At the North Coast Cancer Institute, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and are seeking a Senior Radiation Therapist to join our team at Tweed Valley Hospital on a full-time, permanent basis. As a Senior Radiation Therapist, you will work in a collaborative and supportive environment with regular rotations across CT, Planning, and Treatment. You will be supported by a dedicated Radiation Therapist Educator and report directly to the Deputy Chief Radiation Therapist, ensuring both your own professional development and the upskilling of therapists who report to you. In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will provide leadership and oversight across each core area: managing CT operations to ensure accurate simulation and imaging, coordinating Planning to deliver safe and effective treatment plans, and supervising Treatment delivery to maintain the highest standards of patient care. You will play a key role in mentoring junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring service delivery aligns with best practice standards. You will have access to modern technologies and advanced treatment techniques including IMRT/VMAT, comprehensive stereotactic services, SGRT with tattoo-less techniques, 4DCT, and image-guided treatment protocols.
These services provide opportunities for professional growth, service improvement, and involvement in projects and research initiatives. Our team operates within a virtual planning environment that draws on best practices and the collective expertise of our health network. This dynamic approach ensures balanced workload distribution across sites, aligned with skill mix and development needs. We also offer flexible roster options tailored to your lifestyle, such as full-time hours condensed into a 4-day week or a 9-day fortnight. This flexibility supports a fulfilling work-life balance while enabling you to make a meaningful impact on both your career and the community.
At Tweed Valley Hospital, you will find a supportive and innovative team culture, opportunities to broaden your skills and experience, and the chance to contribute to high-quality healthcare in a growing community. If you are passionate about Radiation Therapy and ready to take the next step in your career, we encourage you to apply.
