Position Classification: Permanent Part or Full Time Staff Specialist or Visiting Medical Officer
Staff Specialist Remuneration: $262,376 per annum - $323,777 per annum full time equivalent depending on experience
VMO Remuneration: As per applicable NSW Health VMO Remuneration Rates
Hours per week: Up to 40 hours per week

Provide contemporary comprehensive Specialist Psychiatry services at the primary facility and other facilities where applicable for optimal patient outcomes delivering a healthy community through quality care. Positions include the specialties of:
- Adult Inpatient Mental Health
- Adult Community Mental Health
- Older Persons Mental Health
- Consultation Liaison
Provide clinical leadership, participate in quality improvement activities and provide training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

Where you'll be working
NNSWLHD Mental Health Services care for adults, adolescents, and children and work with our patients, families and carers to determine what options are available to help with recovery. There are two Acute Adult Inpatient Mental Health Units, one in Tweed Heads and one in Lismore. There is one Sub-Acute Adult Inpatient Mental Health Unit in Byron Bay. Community Mental Health Services are located in Tweed Heads, Murwillumbah, Byron Bay, Ballina, Lismore and Grafton.

OGeneral Selection Criteria*
- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Psychiatrist, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Psychiatry at the role delineation of the service.
- Accredited ECT provider or willingness to work towards same for all adult related specialities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
- Valid unrestricted drivers’ licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment for some roles please refer to specific postion descriptions
