Our services include food, linen, environmental (cleaning), non-emergency patient transport, ambulance cleaning and stocking, procurement, supply chain, the provision of assistive technology, and financial and employee transactions (payroll, purchasing, payments, recruitment).

Role Outline

The Executive Director Procurement, Supply Chain and Chief Procurement Officer leads, plans and manages the procurement, supply chain and warehousing direction and service for the NSW Health system, covering product sourcing, procurement arrangements, supply chain management, warehousing, product distribution, supplier relationship management and contract management.

 


The role works closely with Local Health Districts and health agencies and drives effective, efficient and value-add procurement planning, sourcing and contract management aligned to NSW health system strategic priorities and business needs, ensuring NSW Health obtains best value in all procurement activities.

 


The role will also be instrumental in leading the transformation of procurement in NSW Health, including the establishment of the Procurement Centre of Excellence.

 


To be successful in this role you will need to show an advanced level of ability to deliver in each of these areas of responsibility, leveraging the capabilities for the role and your experience.

 


Your track record of notable and ongoing achievement in leadership of a customer focused service in a complex service delivery environment, is key and will enable you to deliver excellent results in this role.

 


Success will also require achievement of an effective balance between implementation of robust procurement governance frameworks to fulfill legal, regulatory and probity obligations, and the capacity of NSW Health to efficiently and innovatively procure and manage goods and services, whilst working in the demanding clinical, corporate and technology environment in which all NSW health agencies operate.

 


Integrity, procurement management, commitment to customer, collaboration, influencing, delivery of results, problem solving, and management of people and change are key role capabilities.

 


Ideally you will have a record of managing a geographically dispersed system of service delivery.

You are required to submit a one page covering letter, including a short statement in response to the two targeted questions below:

  1. Describe your leadership and management approach to leading a customer focused service in a complex and demanding delivery environment.

  2. Describe the approach you took to establish effective governance to deliver a complex procurement and supply chain program of work, how you tracked performance and how you managed supplier relationships.

 


Essential Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience at an executive level in procurement and supply chain management, health services management, support services management or related fields

    .

  • Substantial experiance at an executive level, with a record of leadership and achievement guiding and managing a customer focused service in a complex service delivery environment, ideally in the health services and/or procurement and supply chain area

  • A comprehensive understanding of Government policies and practice in the key accountability areas of procurement and supply chain management and business reform

  • An extensive knowledge of the shared support services model and how this approach to service provision offers opportunities for enhancing organisational performance, competitiveness, business value, customer service and the optimal delivery of public services will be necessary.

 


This is an ongoing, Band 2, Health Service senior executive (HSSE) role. An attractive remuneration package within the range of $327,929 to $365,348 per annum (SOORT 2025), with annual performance reviews, will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
