What you'll be doing:
An exciting opportunity has become available for Registered Nurses to join our Rehabilitation and Palliative Ward on a Full time or Part time assignment. As a Registered Nurse, you will work collaboratively utilising effective team communication with members of the multidisciplinary health team in the planning, implementation, assessment and evaluation of patient care.

The successful candidate will 
act as an advocate for the specific needs of all patients/clients and carers including those from the indigenous population or other multicultural groups providing appropriate care to the patient/client undergoing specialised procedures, maintain and promote a professional standard evidenced by ethical nursing practice, adherence to the policies and procedures of the Nursing and Midwifery Service, NBMLHD and the appropriate legislation and statutory regulations. 

This role will see you provide support and clinical preceptorship/mentoring to all staff and students and effectively managing resources relevant to service, promotion of best practice including the appropriate escalation of care.

A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form). 
 
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.

Selection Criteria to be Addressed:

  1. Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
  2. Demonstrated clinical experience in a health care setting with demonstrated understanding of Rehabilitation or Palliative Care Nursing. (including completion of a new graduate RN program or equivalent 12 months experience working as a Registered Nurse)
  3. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
  4. Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide person centred care
  5. Demonstrated effective communication skills – written and verbal
  6. Demonstrated commitment to professional development
  7. Ability to work a flexible roster, day, evening or night shift across all days of the week according to the unit/service requirements.
