About Us

The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people’s homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth).

What you will bring to the role

  1. Current registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA. The applicant must be female (designated as specifically a female person under Section 31 of the Antidiscrimination Act).
  2. Demonstrated recent experience and clinical skill in provision of care to children aged 0-5 years and their families/carers as a registered nurse (including completion of a new graduate RN program or 12 months full time equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse)
  3. Demonstrated capacity to provide effective nursing care that is person centred, family inclusive and culturally sensitive to people accessing health services.
  4. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work.
  5. Demonstrated effective communications written and verbal skills.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
  7. Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  8. Current driver's licence and willingness to use for work purposes. This may include driving long distances across the LHD.
