Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. Our Division of Surgery Management is seeking to engage a senior leader to take on the role of Divisional Manager. The position works in a triumvirate model in partnership with the Clinical Director/s and Nurse Manager/s to provide a high level of leadership, governance, and resource management across the Surgical & Anaesthetic’s Division Nepean Hospital. The role is utilised as an authority and provider of sound operational and business advice for the Division, Stream, and Network on all matters of performance and operations to ensure the efficient and effective strategic and operational performance of the Division and Stream. The role will also participate in the Executive On-Call roster.
The Surgery & Anaesthetics Division, Nepean Hospital is complex, providing pre-admission assessment, day surgery and day of surgery, perioperative care, and acute inpatient care and outpatients services. Departments within surgical division Nepean Hospital include: ENT, Head and Neck, Breast, Endocrine, Plastics, Facio maxillary, General surgery, Upper and Lower GIT, Orthopaedics, High risk Foot and Ankle, Neurosurgery, Thoracic, Urology, Vascular, paediatrics, Pain management and Anaesthetics. The Surgery & Anaesthetics Stream consists of multi-disciplinary teams across hospitals within the District including 25 operating theatres.
This position will work closely with other senior executives to provide consistency of services across the LHD. What you will bring to the role:
- Extensive experience in a senior management role within a complex healthcare environment and/or relevant tertiary qualifications in Health Management or related fields.
- A comprehensive knowledge of National, State and Local Health District Policy directions.
- Extensive experience in and understanding of partnerships with consumers, carers and health related organisations in the non-government sector and government sector.
- Proven capacity to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and support teams in a complex multidisciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated advance competence and extensive experience in all aspects of financial management to maintain service delivery within the Service.
- Demonstrated strong ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated advanced competency in project management, including strategic planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Highly developed interpersonal and written communication skills with high level conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills.
