Deputy Chief Radiation Therapist - Level 5

Selection criteria to be addressed:

1. Bachelor’s degree in medical Radiation Science (Radiation Therapy) or qualifications deemed equivalent by employer. General Registration as a Medical Radiation Therapist by the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority.
2. Holder of IA13 and S13 Radiation User Licence from NSW Environmental Protection Authority.
3. Demonstrated ability to manage within a multi-disciplinary department using contemporary methods for communication, performance management, conflict management and leadership.
4. Demonstrated superior level of communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills that demonstrate an ability to breakdown and articulate complex issues to patients, the radiation therapy team and other health professionals.
5. Extensive experience in all aspects of radiation therapy, with excellent knowledge in modern and emerging techniques and technology.
6. Highly motivated and enthusiastic leader with the ability to demonstrate initiative with proven high-level problem solving and negotiation abilities to maintain a harmonious working environment.
7. Experience in implementing and maintaining radiation therapy guidelines, techniques or quality improvement practices using effective change management principles.
8. Proven capacity to supervise, educate, train, and objectively assess Radiation Therapists in current techniques and technologies, with the ability to provide advice to remedy deficiencies, as well as being able to recognise and support talent, develop team capabilities, and undertake succession planning.
