This is a position identified for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people on the basis of a genuine occupational qualification under section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
About This Role
Are you passionate about transforming Aboriginal health outcomes? With your skills and experience, you can contribute to the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people in NSW while developing your career as part of the largest health organisation in Australia.
The vision of the Centre for Aboriginal Health is to work in partnership to build a culturally safe and responsive health system, where Aboriginal people have the same health outcomes as non-Aboriginal people.
The Centre's role is to support positive, holistic health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal people and communities through driving health system change. This includes supporting the health system to better engage and listen to the needs and aspirations of Aboriginal people. Often this is about helping the system to better understand the social and cultural determinants of health, how past Government practices impact on people today and how Aboriginal peoples' experience of education, housing, employment, racism and discrimination impact on access and utilisation of health services.
As a Senior Project Officer, you will coordinate and manage strategic projects and governance functions within the Centre for Aboriginal Health, Office of the Secretary. This is your opportunity to contribute to meaningful transformational change aligned with Closing the Gap and the NSW Aboriginal Health Plan 2024–2034.
Clerk Grade 9/10, starting from $129,464 to $142,665 plus superannuation and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.
